نمودند.كاربر نهايي نقش جدی را به عهده گرفت- كنترل مستقيم داده و سيستم – که نقش قبلي رزرو شده براي پردازنده داده بود. از طريق کامپيوترهای شخصی و زبانهاي نسل چهارم موقعيتی پيش آمد كه کاربر بيشتر ميتوانست با داده درپردازش تراكنشهاي بر خط ارتباط برقرار کند.
